The HBH follow a human quarry. This consists of 1-2 human runners who meet the hounds first thing. They set off prior to the Hounds. The field then follow the Hounds on horseback. The Quarry are an essential part of the day’s hunting without whom there is quite literally nothing for hounds to hunt.
Prior to a hunting day the Masters liaise with farmers and landowners to establish where the quarry can run. The quarry then walk the country and plot each line on an OS map.
All of this ensures that the Highmoor Bloodhounds can demonstrate complete transparency when it comes to when and where our hounds are hunting.
